distinctive--indeed, terrifying--sense of propriety. From Goodreads.This was interesting. I don't read a lot of crime novels and not very often books from Scandinavia. Martin Beck is a police inspector who and has to solve the murder of Roseanna an American tourist in Sweden. It takes time and nothing goes to plan. At the same time we see snippets of his home life which is anything but perfect. It is also clear to see it is quite old as a lot of the characters are smokers which of course was not unusual in the 1960's.
