Rawk: Troupe Task 2015 - Finished

Rawk-A-Tiers Troupe Task 2015 hosted by Rawk-A-Tiers on Goodreads.

This is part of the Rawk-A-Tiers challenge and this one is about working together in our troupes
This challenge is suppose to be repeated every quarter when we get put into new troupes.
We stayed in the same Troupe for this last quarter so we didn't have another challenge.

For the first troupe challenge starting 1st of July, I am part of Water troupe.
Update 22/7: I read 2 books for this challenge and we came in third.

The Troupe Task is a team building exercise for you and your new troupe. It must be completed as a troupe, and every member of your troupe must contribute at least one book toward the task.

☯ The task begins when the quarter opens.
☯ One troupe member will assume responsibility for keeping a running post of the troupe task showing all claimed books and their finished completion dates.
☯ The task list must be claimed in order on your thread in the Troupe Task folder. You may plan your list and sign up strategy in your troupe chat threads.
☯ Troupe members must claim their own books. No proxy, substitutions, or delegated posting of tasks by one member for another.
☯ You must link to the edition of the book that you actually read. For book cover tasks, that edition must actually match the task.
☯ Once all members have claimed a book, you may start reading your books, posting your finished books, and claiming any remaining books on the task list. Remember that books must be claimed in the order in which they appear.
☯ You may not claim a second book until your first book is finished and posted.
☯ No member can read sequential tasks. If you read task #7, you may not also read task #8.
☯ Your final list must be verified and time stamped by one of the two heads of house. That stamp will be the official “finish” time used for determining final standings for the quarter.

TASK LIST
Start July 1st.
I read 2 books for this challenge.

1. Read a book from your Head Of House’s bookshelves.
2. Read a book from your Troupe Leader’s bookshelves.
Fire And Ice by Dana Stabenow (On Danielle's Freebie Shelf)
3. Read a “fire” book.
4. Read a “water” book.
5. Read an “air/sky/wind” book.
6. Read an “earth/land/planet” book.
7. Read a book labeled “Classics.”
8. Read a Fantasy or Sci-Fi book.

Rawk: Haunted House Choose Your Own Adventure

Haunted House Choose Your Own Adventure hosted by Rawk-A-Tiers on Goodreads.

I also think these fate books are interesting even though I never get very far in them. I am going to let fate rule and just see how it all pans out with whatever books I read. I take part at RR level.

October - November 2015

When I was kid, I loved the Choose Your Own Adventure books where I could go in different directions to get a different story. This challenge is a Rawkatier version with a Halloween theme.

Start at the front of the house and then explore the rest by the decisions made in your reading. Try to read your books in the order of your journey, but no one will be checking if you read something out of order. You can leave it up to fate by not looking ahead until you finish your current book or plan your path first.

Although this is getting posted late, any books started on or after October 1st will count for this challenge.

Rawk: Travel Around the World

Travel Around the World hosted by Rawk-A-Tiers on Goodreads.

This sounds interesting, having to match airport codes to authors.

Quarterly Challenge
October 1 - December 31, 2015

I personally do a lot of business travel by air...there are some airports I know by their aiport code (SAN = San Diego,CA; DFW=Dallas/Fort Worth, TX; LAX=Los Angeles, CA). But there are others I would have no clue about just by the code (HPN=Westchester County, NY, where I flew into recently!)

This challenge will have you use Airport Codes, matching with Author Initials, to take a trip around the world. Since Airport Codes are all 3 character codes, you may ignore one of the letters if needed to get the author's initials (can ignore any of the 3 letters, but the initials must be in order

Example
Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone - J.K. Rowling - Janakpur, Nepal (JKR)
Born in Fire - Nora Roberts - Nadar, Morocco (NDR) [ignoring the D]
Still Alice - Lisa Genova - Algiers, Algeria (ALG) [ignoring the A]
The Martian - Andy Weir - Ahwaz, Iran (AWZ) [ignoring the Z]

The Following is NOT acceptable
First Grave on the Right - Darynda Jones - Jodhpur, India (JDH) [Should be DJ, not JD]

You may only use an airport once, but you may end up using an author more than once based on using a different airport that has similar alpha codes.

Link to Airport Codes

Link to Antarctica Airport Codes
☯NOTE:
for Antarctica, you may use the ICAO column to find your author

Scoring

☯ You have three months to complete your level for 10 points.
CR Level = 5 airports
RR Level = 10 airports
PR Level = 15 airports

☯ +1 bonus per airport if using all 3 airport/author initials (max of 5 bonus points)
(NOTE: For Antarctica airports, you may use 3 of 4 initials from list)

☯ +5 bonus if 7 books read, each from an airport on a different continent

☯ +1 bonus per book if book takes place on the same continent as airport is located (max 7 books/points; once per continent)

☯ +1 bonus - Tell us a story of the first plane trip you took (what were the aiport codes of the path you took?). If you have never been on a plane trip, have you taken a trip by other mass public transportation (train, boat, etc)? If you haven't taken a trip, where WOULD you go?!

☯ Maximum Points if all bonuses are met = 28 points
