I managed to stay in the game till the final and I also guessed right but unfortunately later than the other finalist. I still earned 10 points for reaching the final.
Who is ... The Death Eater?
February 1 - ?
*Each round is 2 weeks. How many rounds will be determined by how many people are on a team*
*Inspired by the TV show "The Mole"
Death Eater /deTH 'ēder/: (noun);
a wizard or witch, led by the dark wizard Lord Voldemort, who seek to
purify the Wizarding community by eliminating the Muggle-borns and
half-bloods.
Participants will be randomly placed into teams.
The goal of the team is to earn House Points for the pot. Every few
days, a new task will be posted. Each round will last 2 weeks. Within
those 2 weeks, players may read as many books that fit the tasks as they
can. Each book finished will earn the team points. However, there is
one player whose job is to keep points OUT of the pot. That player is
the Death Eater. The Death Eater will be chosen by the Moderators and
sent a PM with further instructions.
At the end of the round
(every 2 weeks) a Quiz will be posted on the team's thread. The Quiz
will ask questions about the identity of the Death Eater. Complete the
Quiz and PM it to the Mod in charge of your game. The player who knows
the least about the Death Eater, the player who answers the fewest
questions correctly, will be eliminated from the game. If the Quiz ends
in a tie, the player who returned their Quiz last will be eliminated.
The Death Eater will never be eliminated because s/he will know all the
answers.
The final round will consist of the Death Eater and the
last 2 remaining players. At that time, a final round and quiz will be
held. The winner and The Death Eater will be announced after the Final
Quiz.
The Final Quiz will consist of questions that may or may not date back to the very beginning of the game.
The
winner of the game is the person who correctly identifies the Death
Eater the final week. That player will earn their House all the points
from the pot. If no player can identify the Death Eater, the Death
Eater wins the game and earns the points.
Points:
-Each player gets 3 participation points (except the winner of the pot)
-The last player standing, the one who ID’s the Death Eater the final round, gets the points in the pot
-If no one ID’s the Death Eater in the final round, the Death Eater gets the points
*Points
may be deducted from the pot for breaking a rule, reading a book that
does not fit the task, or by not posting a finished book on time.

*Fan Fiction and Beta book are NOT allowed
*No Manga, Comic Books, or Graphic Novels will be allowed
*You must post a link to the book, the author, date finished, and your rating for each book read
*If the task calls for an item on the cover, you must post the cover
*If it is not obvious, you must explain how your book fits the task
*Books must be finished within each two week round
*You cannot speak to other players about how you voted on the Quiz
*Quizes must be PM'd to the Mod in charge of your game by the stated deadline

On this day in 1959, the first
Barbie doll goes on display at the American Toy Fair in New York City.
Barbie was the first mass-produced toy doll in the United States with
adult features. The woman behind Barbie was Ruth Handler. Barbie’s
appearance was modeled on a doll named Lilli, based on a German comic
strip character. Originally marketed as a racy gag gift to adult men
in tobacco shops, the Lilli doll later became extremely popular with
children. Mattel bought the rights to Lilli and made its own version,
which Handler named after her daughter, Barbara.
Over the years,
Barbie generated huge sales–and a lot of controversy. On the positive
side, many women saw Barbie as providing an alternative to traditional
1950s gender roles. She has had a series of different jobs, from airline
stewardess, doctor, pilot and astronaut to Olympic athlete and even
U.S. presidential candidate. Others thought Barbie’s never-ending supply
of designer outfits, cars and “Dream Houses” encouraged kids to be
materialistic. It was Barbie’s appearance that caused the most
controversy, however. Her tiny waist and enormous breasts–it was
estimated that if she were a real woman, her measurements would be
36-18-38–led many to claim that Barbie provided little girls with an
unrealistic and harmful example and fostered negative body image.

It's World Story Telling Day!
World
Storytelling Day is a global celebration of the art of oral
storytelling. It is celebrated every year on the spring equinox in the
northern hemisphere, the first day of autumn equinox in the southern.
World Storytelling Day has its roots in a national day for storytelling
in Sweden, circa 1991-2. On World Storytelling Day, as many people as
possible tell and listen to stories in as many languages and at as many

April 3, 1860
On
this day in 1860, the first Pony Express mail, traveling by horse and
rider relay teams, simultaneously leaves St. Joseph, Missouri, and
Sacramento, California. Ten days later, on April 13, the westbound rider
and mail packet completed the approximately 1,800-mile journey and
arrived in Sacramento, beating the eastbound packet’s arrival in St.
Joseph by two days and setting a new standard for speedy mail delivery.
Although ultimately short-lived and unprofitable, the Pony Express
captivated America’s imagination and helped win federal aid for a more
economical overland postal system. It also contributed to the economy of
the towns on its route and served the mail-service needs of the

Task #3
National High Five Day was started in 2002 at the University of Virginia. A group of students set up shop on the main quad of the campus and gave out high-fives and lemonade.
The
idea spread and over the years peoples of all ages and backgrounds have
celebrated National High Five Day by giving high-fives all day to
friends, co-workers and strangers.
In 2010, the
founders of National High Five Day decided to try to direct all the
good-will from National High Five Day towards doing real and tangible
good. They incorporated National High Five Project and were granted
tax-deductible status by the IRS.
In 2015,
National High Five Day is partnering with Action for Healthy Kids, a
nationwide grassroots network mobilizing schools, parents and volunteers
in support of school-based nutrition and physical activity that lead to
lifelong healthy habits and academic success for all kids. NHFD will
be raising money and awareness to help join the fight against childhood
obesity.
