Since school is getting out, we must get ready for our finals. We are a little more relaxed here since you can choose your grade before even starting the test! (And all grades are equal regardless of description)

In each class, the first book you read will earn an OWL, the second book you read will earn a NEWT. You may only read up to 2 books for each class.

πŸŽ“ 1. Pick a class and choose the discussion you would like to read; your book choice must be determined by the grade you wish to achieve for the discussion.

Each grade has a letter associated with it. This letter may be used in the author's first or last initials, or the main character's initials. It may also be the first letter of the title or series title (A, An, and The are disregarded, the first main word of the title will be used to determine the letter).

Outstanding: O
Exceeds Expectations: E
Acceptable: A
Poor: P
Dreadful: D
Troll: T

πŸŽ“ 2. For the second book in the same class, a new grade must be achieved. If you read a book with A for your OWL, you must choose a different letter for your NEWT. See Auror Rules for additional information

πŸŽ“ 3. You may repeat the discussion topic for the second book read in the class.

πŸŽ“ 4. You may use any combination of OWLs and NEWTS to achieve your level, except for the bonus Auror level which has its own requirements.

πŸŽ“ 5. A complete class is achieving both an OWL and a NEWT.

Freshman: any 4 discussions or 2 completed classes - 3pts
Sophomore: any 8 discussions or 4 completed classes - 6pts
Junior: any 12 discussions or 6 completed classes - 9pts
Senior: any 16 discussions or 8 completed classes -12pts

**Auror level: at least 5 classes completed with OWL and NEWT using only the letters O or E. This means 10 books, specifically at least 5 OWLs with O or E, then 5 NEWTs with O or E in the same classes - Bonus 2 pts
Note: This is the only option that lets you repeat a grade within the same class, you may use O and/or E for both discussions in a class if you are claiming the Auror bonus points.
