A Million More Pages - Hogwarts: Barreling Through - Finished

Barreling Through hosted by A Million More Pages on Goodreads.

This was quite fun even though it took me all 3 guesses to get through the barrels.

April 1- May 31

The Hufflepuff Dormitories and Common room have never been seen by outsiders and is the only house with repelling devices in case of intruders. They are accessed through a pile of large barrels, found stacked in a shadowy stone recess on a right-hand side corridor near the kitchens.

How it works: Tasks must be done in order. After you complete the task for one location, you may move on to the next location.

Location #1: Kitchen - Read a book whose author first/last name starts with K, title starts with K or has an K series name or has food on cover.
Girl's Guide to Witchcraft by Mindy Klasky

Then move on to the barrels...proceed with caution!!

Location #2: Barrels- The correct barrel will open if tapped with the rhythm of Helga Hufflepuff- *link to your favorite song on You Tube or post a picture of your favorite band/musical group in your common room- include link to your common room post in your tracking thread (this can be done at any time).
James Blunt: Bonfire Heart

Choose one barrel
- PM Greta, do not post your choice in your post or you will give it away to others!! Greta will tell you if you are right or wrong.

Barrel of Butterbeer
Barrel of Pumpkin Juice
Barrel of Cherry Syrup

1st. answer wrong: A Little Love by Amanda Prowse
2nd. answer wrong: A Bag Of Moonshine by Alan Garner

If you choose the wrong barrel (this may happen 2 times max)- As a security device to repel non-Hufflepuffs, tapping on the wrong barrel, or tapping the incorrect number of times, results in one of the other lids bursting off and drenching the imposter in vinegar.- read a book whose title starts with one of the letters in the word vinegar, then try again.

Once you choose the Correct Barrel- Read a book whose author first/last name starts with H, title starts with H or has an H series name.
Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix by J.K. Rowling

Then move along to Tunnel Entryway.

Location #3: Tunnel Entryway- Read a book whose author first/last name starts with T, title starts with T or has an T series name or has a dark cover
Take Three Birds by Jilli Lime-Holt

You have now reached the Hufflepuff Common Room

Location #4: Common Room- Once you make it through the tunnel entryway, the Hufflepuff dormitory is a quite cozy and welcoming place; it always feels sunny. The common room is a large, earthy, round room with low ceilings. The view from the round windows is of dandelions and rippling grass. The decor emphasises the earthy-feel of the room with plants hanging and resting all about the room, some that even sing and dance. Burnished copper touchings with plush, cosy yellow and black patterned sofas and chairs welcoming a Hufflepuff student to relax and discuss the interesting specimens brought in by the Head of House, Professor Sprout. -
Read book with plants on cover, Cozy mystery genre, or a mostly yellow or black cover
Penelope by Anya Wylde (rosebushes and other bushes on cover)
