Thankfully Reading Weekend hosted by Jenn at Jenn's Bookshelves.

I nearly missed this, I am glad I didn't as the Thankfully Reading Weekend 2011 was one of the first reading challenges I took part in.
I am Danish and I do not celebrate Thanksgiving and I haven't been Black Friday shopping either but that doesn't mean I won't enjoy a weekend of reading.

My goal for these four days will be to finish 3 books toward my 2012 Reading Challenges.

Season of the Witch October 2012

Michelle from The True Book Addict has two Reading Challenges in October, this is the second one.

"My first annual month long October event, Season of the Witch! I hope you will join me for some scary fun this Halloween season."

I am definitely joining this Reading Challenge as well and I know I still have some witch and wizard books in my TBR pile.

FrightFall Read-a-Thon October 1 - 7 2012

Michelle @ The True Book Addict is again hosting several Reading Challenges. And I will be taking part in them.

The first week of October is going to be the scary week.
"A week long fest of scary reading (well, at least one scary book anyway).  All you have to do to participate is read at least one horror/scary book."

I will look at my list from spring and see if I can't find a couple of books I didn't read and then find a few more. I will have a list of books and my goals for the week ready for the starting post the 1st of October.

Finishing the Series Reading Challenge

It's a challenge for all those series books you started at some point and haven't finished. I know I'll start a series and read the first book, then get distracted with other books and never get back to the series. Before I know it, the series has 10 books - I get overwhelmed and don't go back to it. Now, I want to finish a couple.


Level 1 - Complete 1 series.
Level 2 - Complete 2 series.
Level 3 - Complete 3 or more series.

When I saw this challenge I thought I might have a couple of series I have started but not yet finished. I then started to count and there was actually quite a few. I won't mention them all here but I will go for level 3 - Complete 3 or more series.

 10: Cold Days (looks like it is not out till 2013)

6. Chaos Walking Series by Patrick Ness (1 to read)

I think this list is long enough now so I won't mention any more but I am quite confident I will finish at least 3 of these series so I will not say I have done this challenge until I have finished at least 5 of the series.

Spring Into Horror Read-a-Thon

Michelle at The True Book Addict is hosting another week-long Read-a-Thon. Thank you Michelle.

It's coming...to shake up your peaceful spring. ;O)  Yup, it's the Spring into Horror Read-a-Thon, April 23 at 12:00am CST to April 29 at 11:59pm CST (adjust times according to your time zone). Now don't let the word 'horror' scare you away from this read-a-thon.  You do have to read at least one scary book during the duration of the read-a-thon.  That book can be horror, paranormal, thriller, mystery, etc. The rest of the read-a-thon, you can read whatever you want.  More horror/scary stuff or just your regular reading repertoire.  As always, this is a week long read-a-thon, but you can join in and read whenever it's convenient for you.  It's all about being laid back and getting some reading done...with a little bit of scary thrown in.

I think this will be the third of Michelle's Read-a-Thons that I will take part in and I have enjoyed them so far so I will keep coming back for more.

I read a lot of paranormal so I think I will try to find at least one or two regular horror books to read that week.

The last weekend of the Read-a-Thon I have got some commitments so I have to cram my reading in to the first 5 days and hope for a bit of time to finish off at the weekend.

I think my goal will be a book a day and 1 over the weekend so 6 books in total. I will start to compile my book list.

Dewey's Read-a-Thon April 2012

I will take part in Dewey's 24hr Read-a-Thon on the 21st of April. This will be my second time taking part. In October 2011 I only discovered this event a few days beforehand so even though I took part the whole 24 hours, I had a few prearranged commitments that I had to do in between. This time I have been keeping an eye on the date and as soon as it came up I marked it. This time I have the entire 24 hours free for reading.

I am looking forward to having the light all 24 hours this time - 24 hour sun will not be until the 25th of April so there will be a couple of hours where I can't see it, but it will still be light.

Over the next couple of weeks I will try and decide what to read. I have found out that maybe I can't read as much in 24 hours as I thought but I will still put a few extra books on my reading list so I have a choice or maybe when I see what other people read I might change my mind and go for something entirely different. Most likely, my list will contain both new books and rereads as I have learned that I need something very interesting for the last few hours where I will be struggling to keep awake.

It is only a few years ago I was introduced to Anne McCaffrey and her Pern Books. I loved them from the start and I think I have got most of them.

The levels of this challenge are:

• Green– The original trilogy (or any 3)
• Blue- The original trilogy plus the Harper Hall trilogy (or any 6)
• Brown– Everything with Ms. McCaffrey as sole author (17)
• Bronze– Everything except the ones written by Todd alone (22)
• Gold – The whole lot of them (24-25)

As I by now have chosen to take part in quite a few challenges I will go with:  Blue- The original trilogy plus the Harper Hall trilogy (or any 6) and maybe go up a level later.

I have over the last few months ever since Dewey's Read-a-Thon in October started following some book blogs so I would like to try this challenge in order to see what has been recommended over the last year.

The levels of the challenge are:

Level I - Read 5 books from the 2011 Book Blogger Recommendation List
Level II - Read 10 books
Level III - Read 15 books
Level IV - Read 20 books
Level V - Read 20+ books

I will do level III - read 15 books. As I am wanting to take part in a few challenges I do not dare go higher than that.

This is the perfect challenge for me as at least 90% of the books I read are ebooks. The levels in this challenge are:

1. Floppy disk - 5 ebooks
2. CD - 10 ebooks
3. DVD - 25 ebooks
4. Memory stick - 50 ebooks
5. Hard drive - 75 ebooks
6. Server - 100 ebooks
7. Human brain - 150 ebooks

I have decided to go for level 6. Server and try and read 100 ebooks within the next year.

Book Challenges

Book Challenges, a quite new terminology for me. I have seen a few out there and have up till now chosen 2 that I would like to take part in.

Tonight I then thought I would have a look to see what is actually out there and oh my gosh. There are book reading challenges for everybody. I think that I within 10 minutes found about 30 that looks interesting! I will have a good look at them tomorrow and then try and limit myself.

I mentioned to my husband that I was going to take part in this 2012 Sci-Fi challenge. I said I wasn't sure what to read but there would be book suggestions on the challenge blog:
